Brentford have completed the signing of Chiedozie Ogbene from Limerick. The highly-rated Nigerian-born winger has also been on the radar of a number of teams – including play-off rivals Aston Villa. He trialled for several clubs in the summer including Chelsea and scored 10 goals for the Irish side last season after signing last January from Cork.
Ogbene – who plays on either wing or down the middle but prefers the right hand side – is due in London for a medical today (Monday). He is expected to go straight into training with the first team this week.
We spoke about the Bees’ interest in Chiedozie a couple of week’s ago on the Beesotted Pride of West London podcast.
You can watch Ogbene score the third goal for Limerick against Charlton in a pre-season friendly last summer on 2 hr 7 min 40 sec in the video below.
Beesotted will be chatting to Limerick fans about Chiedoze Ogbene on the Beesotted Pride of West London Transfer Deadline Day podcast live Thursday 7am.
