Apart from the kudos of Beesotted being shortlisted as the Football Supporters’ Federation’s Bloggers of the Year for 2013 and a nice slap-up meal, there was one of other associated, yet unexpected, treat at the tail end of last year… one that made me appreciate how lucky pro footballers are in never having to pay for decent football boots.
The kind souls at Warrior sent me delicious looking pair of their Superheats to test out and review – thankfully for them my son is a pretty useful under-14 player – so I had them sent in his size instead.
The torrential rain over the past few weeks had taken its toll on junior fixtures, so their first use in anger had to wait… but Sunday, despite the frost, it was game on and, although he didn’t christen them with a winning goal, they were robust enough to secure his first ever yellow card after a late, frustrated tackle floored an opponent after the incompetent referee failed to spot his shirt being pulled back when about to score. It wasn’t the boots’ fault and I’ll have to stump up the tenner fine I expect.
The Superheats themselves are a thing of beauty, light as a feather, strong and protective and the detailing on the colouring looks amazing… no wonder they cost £140 and almost too nice to get muddy! But here’s your chance to win a pair for free.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer two questions:
- Which Premier League club does Warrior manufacture the kit for?
- Which former Brentford ‘Warrior’ left Brentford to join Reading in 1986?
Send your two answers, with your shoe size, to [email protected] before 5:30 this Friday 17th January and we’ll get a pair of Warrior Superheats sent out to you.
