As we await the Premier League fixtures being released on Wednesday 16th June, we asked Brentford fans what games they were and were NOT looking forward to in Brentford’s first season in the top flight

Liverpool at home. Would be a fitting opponent for our first full house at New Griffin Park which will be rocking
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Brighton. I can just see Maupay scoring against us
What match are you most looking forward to?
Man United away. I always wanted to see The Bees play at Old Trafford and this will be our first visit there in my lifetime
Jon Condorman Restall
What team you want to play 1st match?
Palace at home. It looks winnable while they haven’t got a manager currently. It’s a London derby. A chance to boo Eze for his QPR heritage
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Man Citeh away. If anyone is going to flush your head down the toilet with a footballing lesson it’s City and their free flowing tekkers
What match are you most looking forward to?
Liverpool away. I was too young to go to Anfield in the FA Cup so it’s a new ground. And they even let Foolham win there last year
Sara L
What team you want to play 1st match
Newcastle at home. We beat them at home last season so maybe we can do them again
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match
Any of the “Big four”. I’d like us to have one or two under our belt before playing the “really big” clubs
What match are you most looking forward to
Villa at home. To extend a typical warm Bees welcome to Olle, Ezri Konsa and Dean Smith.
Ken Duncan
What team you want to play 1st match?
Burnley at home. It’s important that we try and get off on a winning note
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Man City away. We need to start the season with the momentum that new teams regularly show
What match are you most looking forward to?
Man Utd away. It’s a local team to me and many friends support them. I’ve been offered tickets for match already and, unlike playing City, could see it being a match we could get something out of it
Robin McMichael aka Robin Hood
What team you want to play 1st match?
Man United away. A nice big game to start the season and really hit home that we are in the Premiership. Pressure off us due to the calibre of the opposition. Go out and play football the Brentford way
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Norwich away. A game we’ve played plenty recently, it would be a rather underwhelming first chapter of our Premiership adventure. Plus, we’ve never really faired well against Norwich, bit of a bogey team
What match are you most looking forward to?
Everton away. One of my closest mates is a toffee and the chance to go to Goodison Park before it gets knocked down (plus a night out in Liverpool).

What team you want to play 1st match?
Man City away. Bite the bullet. Let’s play the hardest team first and get it out of the way
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Chelsea away. This game needs away fans to create a proper derby atmosphere. If restrictions are still in place in August, then this would cause the team a disadvantage
What match are you most looking forward to?
Arsenal. I have a feeling that we could do the double over them
Gemma Teale
What team you want to play 1st match?
Man City at home. I really want our first match to be at home to give the fans a chance to show appreciation to the team and to get the players going with some proper noise. City because I think the earlier matches give us a better chance of getting a cheeky legendary win
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Norwich away. Because it’s a long way, not exciting, and they’ll probably still beat us
What match are you most looking forward to?
Spurs away. They were my team when I was very small (my family supports QPR and I knew that was wrong at a young age, even though I’d not heard of Brentford til I was a teenager). But mostly because I want to go to their new stadium.
Sav
What team you want to play 1st match?
Man Utd or Liverpool at home. I’ve never seen us play them. And a great way to kick off a full house at Lionel Road and our first ever Premier League Season
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Fulham. Because it would mean the whole thing was a dream (I’m still partly convinced it was just a dream)
What match are you most looking forward to?
Everton Away. I’ve always wanted to visit Goodison Park. It looks a proper ground and it won’t be there much longer.
Club Shop Ann
What team you want to play 1st match?
Man City. Play the champions as a bench mark to see where we are and then we compare during the second half of the season.
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Leeds. It would just feel like a championship match.
What match are you most looking forward to?
All matches. Just being able to watch live football and go to away matches.
Paddy Hughes
What team you want to play 1st match?
Man Utd. Having a large Irish family that mainly all support Utd, it’s gonna be great to actually play (and beat them) in the same level. It’s exciting knowing that we are definitely going to play rather than wishing for it to come out of the hat in the cup draw
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Norwich. We’ve played them so much that’s it’s just normal now
What match are you most looking forward to?
Liverpool Away. I was just a little too young to go in ‘89 and would love to see Anfield (but towards the end of the season so it can be full)
Tony OldMead Ryan
What team you want to play 1st match?
Arsenal home. A great way to launch ourselves and the new stadium to the Premier League. I really want the first game to be a home fixture.
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Man City away. All in good time…let’s find our feet first
What match are you most looking forward to?
Everton away. Fantastic old ground scheduled for development that I’ve never been to. A weekend in Liverpool for sure
Sanjiv Ahluwalia
What team you want to play 1st match?
Spurs away A good away day to a much vaunted stadium.
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Norwich, Watford, Burnley, Chelsea and to a lesser extent, Arsenal. The first two are newly promoted teams who we played last season; Burnley could be boring; Chelsea we have played recently; and Arsenal away recently was a huge disappointment
What match are you most looking forward to?
Liverpool – the big glamour tie
Keith
What team you want to play 1st match?
Burnley. Poor planning means I will be on a stag on opening weekend
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Liverpool. Anfield is one of the few grounds for me to tick off and never been to Liverpool as a city with the Bees
What match are you most looking forward to?
Man U. Family are all United fans
Ian Westbrook
What team you want to play 1st match?
Everton. Because I want to wait for a top six match. But also I want to start against someone who’s a real Premier League club and who I haven’t seen us play in the league before
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Top six club so Man City etc. More chance of a first day hammering
What match are you most looking forward to?
Man Utd away. The biggest league stadium in which I have never seen the Bees play
Anna
What team you want to play 1st match?
Brighton away. Local seaside start in the Summer against an old Bee, before playing the bigger guns.
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Man City. It would be good to settle in with our new players first, so we’re ready to beat them 🙂 .
What match are you most looking forward to?
Liverpool away. Im hoping to make a first trip to Anfield
Jim
What team you want to play 1st match?
Crystal Palace. A winnable London Derby
What team do you NOT want to play 1st match?
Man City. I like to play them when they start rotating later into the season
What match are you most looking forward to?
Liverpool . Memories of cup encounters when younger

@billythebee99 1st game. Man City Away.
