Chiedozie Ogbene Hopes To Take Brentford To The Next Level

New Brentford forward, Chiedoze Ogbene, has spoken about his excitement in joining from Limerick this week – the 20-year-old is a further addition to a Bees squad already bursting with attacking talent and his pace and strength will give manager Dean Smith even more options – even if that doesn’t happen over night.

The former Cork City player said on his arrival; “What I really like about the Club is that I see the players are very hard-working and they always want to win. I want to be part of that, I want to win and never like to lose. I think coming here, I feel I can help the Club and obviously the Club can help me improve. I can see us moving forward to that next level together in the near future.”

He also seems a realist about the need to get up to speed and learn all about life in the Championship; “It’s a big club and a big step from where I am in Limerick, it’s great to get this opportunity to play at this level. The people here are very positive, friendly and it’s a club as well that wants to win. I want to be part of that.”

Brentford now have a vast array of wide-men, wingers and attacking midfielders at our disposal – and although some people say that you can’t have too many good players in what is a long and stressful Championship season – keeping everyone match fit and giving everyone enough game-time could increasingly become a problem. Ogbene has been brought in as an A-team squad player and it will be interesting to see exactly where he will fit in, or indeed, who he may replace.

Beesotted will be chatting to Limerick fans about Chiedoze Ogbene on the Beesotted Pride of West London Transfer Deadline Day podcast live Thursday 7am.

The Bee Job Question
