Beesotted contributors  The Gowler and Paul Kowalczyk (@BeesBreakdown) give us the tactical and statistical lowdown of Brentford’s 4-0 thumping of Manchester United
Thomas Frank swaps out Wissa and Janelt for Dasilva and Roerslev. Brentford set up in a 3-5-2 with Hickey as the right wing back and Roerslev playing right centerback. Jensen, Norgaard, and Dasilva playing through the middle in a flat 3 on defence while in a low block.
When Brentford pressed in the opposition’s half Jensen was pressing high while Dasilva and Norgaard stayed further back. New signing Mikkel Damsgaard makes the bench, but his debut will have to wait until next week.

Summary
Brentford happily let Manchester United have possession and make mistakes. Brentford capitalized on these mistakes early and was able to sit back in the second half. Brentford did a fantastic job executing instructions from Thomas Frank that consisted of high pressing, quick counters, and compact defence.
Mathias Jensen played at an extremely high-level causing havoc with his pressing and springing quick counters with his long passing. Brentford’s pressing also resulted in corners and throw ins that created dangerous chances. Brentford’s compact defence forced Manchester United to play out wide instead of through the middle.
Manchester United had trouble breaking down Brentford’s low block which caused United to throw numbers forward. Once Brentford would win the ball back they quickly pushed forward leading to dangerous counters.
