Greg Dyke has today announced his decision to step down as Brentford FC chairman and board member from July onwards, when he is due to replace David Bernstein as Chairman of the doddery old Football Association.

Dyke joined the Bees board as non-executive Chairman back in 2006 and despite previously high profile roles at LWT, the BBC and Manchester United, has stayed relatively in the background during his time at TW8. His legacy will be the transfer of the club from the fans owned Bees United to benefactor Matthew Benham.

Beesotted’s Condorman looks at some of the front runners to replace Dyke at Griffin Park:

Chairman Mao
Pros – military precision, doubling of crowds
Cons – human rights abuse, executions

Bill Gates
Pros – incredibly rich, entreprenurial
Cons – likes computers

Tom Hanks
Pros – knows Cameron Diaz, gained valuable chairmanship experience in the film Big
Cons – came across as being a bit simple in Forrest Gump

Karren Brady
Pros – experienced football director and vice-chairman, high profile role on The Apprentice
Cons – may insist on picking her son, Paulo Peschisolido

Martin Allen
Pros – loves the Bees, would cause havoc in opposition boardrooms
Cons – wears a tanktop, probably a  bit mental
