Brentford all but sealed their Championship survival in the first half last night, and by scoring three goals in 45 minutes for the second time in 72 hours.

The only change to the weekend win at Nottingham Forest was Lasse Vibe coming in for the injured Rodriguez, and the popular Dane grabbed himself a brace in a one sided first half… In fact, as Beesotted Tweeted at the match, Vibe’s two goals in two games was the first time a Brentford player had achieved that since Nico Yennaris in April 2016. Vibe then went on to make it three-in-two.

Some fans predicted the goal-fest to continue in the second 45, but as is often the case, it was a very different second period. Bolton improved a little, the Bees took their foot of the gas a little, but, in truth, the result was all-important.

Yes it is mathematically impossible we are not safe, but a third year in the Championship is all but assured in reality, and that feels great. We all know we’re not going down now.

As you will hear in the Beesotted Pride of West London Post-Match Podcast, and from watching the Beesotted Terrace Video, links above, the fans are relieved and far happier, however, there is still a decent chunk of the season to go, in which they hope their side can flourish.

There are three more games at Griffin Park this campaign, plus some tricky away fixtures, so it essential the players do all they can to ensure we end on a high. Starting at Ipswich Town on Saturday were fans are being charged a King’s ransom for a match ticket!
