Brentford ended the last Championship campaign on a real high with Dean Smith’s rampant Bees demolishing Huddersield 5-1 – it was an amazing, and hugely positive, finale to what had been a massively traumatic season – and who would have thought back in February in March, when the Bees seemingly couldn’t buy a win for love nor money, that many fans were sad to see 2015/16 actually end… a few more weeks and who’d have know?
Scott Hogan was not only ablaze, he was so hot that Isleworth fire station was on a permanent state of alert – obviously we all hope that the resurgent striker continues in the same form when the curtain comes down again in a few weeks time – in one of the strongest and most competitive Championships of all time.
But, before we look excitedly forward to clashes against Newcastle, Aston Villa, not to mention further local derby installments against our rivals Fulham and QPR, let’s reflect on last season one more time – as Billy and I unveil our next Beesotted Movie – “Worriers, Warriors and Wonderers”.
The title will become self-evident as the months progress – but there was a palpable, and sometime toxic, mix of emotions that pulsed unpredictably throughout the season: hope, worry, despair, frustration, anger, joy, laughter, ecstasy, rage, embarrassment, wonderment and pride – they’re all in there for you to re-live. And as for Warrior-man, well, he still makes me cry every time I watch him.
Enjoy the movie…
