After our victory at Loftus Road agains QPR, Beesotted contributor Luke Blake is looking forward to the forthcoming derby with Fulham
What a difference one game has made! From the disappointment of Barnsley to the delight of 2,500 Bees fans at Queens Park Rangers, it certainly was a contrasting week.
It might have been in QPR’s backyard but judging by the noise and the performance, you would have thought it was a home game. I thought we were outstanding, with several man of the match performances from Josh Clarke and John Egan amongst others.
And what a way for Romaine Sawyers to score his first Bees goal and silence the boo-boys than with the winning goal in the derby. Who would have thought that at 5 o’clock last Saturday?
Our second West London derby in a row and another opportunity to impress in front of the Sky cameras and secure even more bragging rights. Fulham come to Griffin Park on the back of a five star home performance against Huddersfield, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side keen to gain some consistency and try to avenge their dismal record against Dean Smith’s side, with the aggregate score of our last four meetings being 11-4 in favour of the Reds.
The Whites have some dangerous players in the form of Tom Cairney and striker (not singer) Chris Martin on loan from Derby County. However we look the stronger side and our impressive home record this season should stand us in good stead.
A win will, at least for a day, see us climb into the top six just before the next international break.
However, for now I’m sure many Bees fans are just waiting for Friday and yet another three points from Fulham!
