Fans’ favourite, Sam Saunders, has indicated that his recovery from knee surgery is going well and the midfielder expects to be back in first-team contention for the final few games of the season.
Saunders told the Chronicle; “I am so eager to get back in, I have been kicking every ball from the sidelines. I will be back for the run in just when we need some fresh legs.”
The absence of January’s League One Player of the Month has been noticeable, despite the team’s continued rich run of form – it seems that the creative tap has been turned down a tad since his injury against Port Vale.
Here’s hoping his rehab continues well, as a few more goals from free-kicks and pin-point crosses may make all the difference.
