I would rather sit or stand at a dormant Griffin Park, than have clappers(Fulham) or drums, or even worse a band. Over exuberabent stewards do not help with things at games, people are always being warned about chants and gestures if something happens on the field of play, the days of real crowds creating atmospheres died some time ago, I don’t think they will come back again soon.
Interesting points here. I am old enough to remember the old Royal Oak end, and the atmosphere there was excellent. Living in the far north of England, I haven’t been able to get to a home match since promotion so I can’t comment on the atmosphere (or lack of it) at GP. However, I do recommend a book called “You Only Sing When You’re Winning” by Colin Irwin, in which he tries to investigate the atmosphere at football. It was written in 2006 but seems even more pertinent today. And as a bonus, he it starts and finishes at GP
