Agents fees

From October 2013 to September 2014, Brentford paid over £600,000 on agents fees.

Sporting Director Frank McParland has assured fans that this area of expenditure is “closely monitored and controlled to the best of our ability”.

Subject to agents fees would have been signings Jota, Andre Gray, Moses Odubajo and Alan Judge – who some may argue have all proven to be excellent value.

Warburton Manager of the Month?

Brentford boss Mark Warburton, who finished November with a 4-0 win against Wolves, is favourite to land Championship Manager of the month.

The Bees made it 5 wins from 5 games for November after also beating Milwall, Derby, Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

With Brentford now sitting in 3rd place – equal on points with 2nd second place Ipswich, Warburton looks pretty certain to be rewarded for his side’s fine form with a Football League gong.

Mawson in Team of the week

Brentford defender Alfie Mawson, who is currently on loan at Wycombe, has been named in the Football League team of the week

There was a notable absence from the team though, with no recognition of Alan Judge’s display against Wolves.

Judge looked a dead cert for inclusion after a sensational performance against Wolves scoring a goal and an assist in the 4-0 rout.

Mawson won his place in the team after a solid performance in Wycombe’s 3-1 win at Hartlepool, in which he scored the third goal. It is hoped that Mawson’s spell at the 2nd division club will have a similar effect that Toumani Diagouraga’s spell at Portsmouth had for him – the midfielder, like Mawson, earning rave reviews at the 2nd division club returning rejuvenated and fighting for a 1st team place.

Cellino disqualified from owning Leeds United

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has been disqualified from owning Leeds United, being asked to resign by the Football League.

Cellino, who has been given 28 days to carry out the order, has confirmed he is going to appeal the ruling, which was made on Monday.

The decision was made by the Football League after documents confirmed Cellino had been convicted of tax evasion in an Italian court had come to light.

Cellino can retake control of the club in March next year after the punishment has been served. It is not known who will take control of the club until then.
