Brentford sign Everton forward

19 year-old striker Chris Long has signed a one-month youth loan at Brentford.
The forward will be eligible for the home match against Norwich on Saturday.

Long, who joined Everton academy at the age of 5, has featured in every stage of the England youth set-up, from Under-16 to Under-20.
Last season Long went to Franchise FC aka MK Dons on loan, where he scored on his debut professional appearance.

  Celtic target training with Brentford

Celtic target Michael Duffy is training with Brentford ahead of a proposed move.

The Derry striker recently flew to Scotland to train with the SPL champions, but will today play in a development squad game against Wolves for Brentford.

Duffy scored twice against a Newcastle side in his trial at Celtic, netting past Tim Krul.

Millwall kick-off time changed

The kick off for Brentford’s home game against Millwall on March 21st has been brought forward to 1pm.

This is the first time the Bees have hosted The Lions since 2009 in League 1. That match finished 2-2 with John Bostock scoring direct from a corner – the first and last decent he did in a Brentford shirt if we remember rightly.

Brentford beat Millwall 3-2 at The Den earlier this season – Andre Gray scoring two goals.

Millwall are currently 22nd in the Championship, three points away from safety.

Villa midfielder to join Brentford?

Jack Grealish, the 19-year old Aston Villa midfielder, is linked with a loan move to Brentford.

With Alan Judge out injured for a few weeks, Bees will be looking to strengthen their side as they push to consolidate their position in the table.

Grealish played against Brentford last season as part of Notts County’s great escape – in which they avoided almost certain relegation with a tremendous end of season push.

Ipswich, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are also reportedly chasing the midfielder.

Around the Championship

Crystal Palace are rumoured to be close to signing Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede for ÂŁ4m – who was mysteriously missing from the Blackburn squad who drew 1-1 at Wigan.

Rumours surround Leeds United and a fire sale. Having just sold highly rater Stephen Warnock to Derby, Southampton are now reporting an interest in Sam Byram. Cellini, who has been disqualified as Chairman of Leeds for a few months, has stated that he is willing to sell a few players.

Police have arrested a man in Hong Kong after ÂŁ2.5m went missing from Birmingham City’s coffers. The midland club’s owners fear that a former employee may have “misappropriated” the funds.

Wigan have rejected a bid for Callum McManaman from Tony Pulis at WBA who has admitted he has made an offer for four players recently.
