Long serving club captain, Kevin O’Connor, today put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Griffin Park.

O’Connor made his Bees debut back in 2000 and, if all goes to plan, will join the 500 Club before hanging his boots up and taking up a full-time coaching role.

Bees Gaffer, Mark Warburton, said of the news:  “I am delighted that Kevin O’Connor will be extending his contract with the club and indeed will be assuming additional responsibilities as he looks to begin his coaching career. Kevin will continue his playing career but combine his training and playing duties with his pursuit of the relevant coaching licences and spending time working with both the first team and academy staff.”

Kev is highly respected by all Brentford fans and it is great that he is being given the opportunity to keep on developing at Griffin Park.
