Sorry, I couldn’t resist a poor attempt at a Helena Bonham Carter headline pun… however, Brentford’s new signing from Watford looks set to start in goal for Brentford against Celtic, and Kevin O’Connor will certainly get a run out against the Scottish Champions… Bees fans will hopefully see their first glimpse of the ‘actual’ Javi Venta too.

Bees boss Uwe Rosler will have enjoyed seeing his squad dismantle Championship Millwall on Tuesday night, and I am sure is hoping for a similarly impressive performance against higher profile opposition.

From a Bees fans’ perspective, the Celtic visit will provide a sterner test on our defence, and I am keen to see how the back four, and new midfield copes – Alan McCormack was particularly impressive against the Lions, let’s hope he can repeat that form going in to the start of the season.

I’m sure both teams will rotate their teams frequently in the heat later today, so the team sheet on the back of the special 80-page, three-quid programme may come in handy.
