Brentford have confirmed that Alan Judge has signed on loan from Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the season.
The Irishman, who can play in the centre of midfield or on the left flank, has solid experience of League One with Notts County and was named in the PFA League One team of the season last year.
He re-signed for boyhood club Blackburn over the summer but has only made 12 appearances this season for the Lancashire side.
News on the potential signing of Chuba Akpom from Arsenal has quietened somewhat following the injury to Theo Walcott earlier in the week, although Brentford are still hoping that the Gunners starlet will join us on loan
Am I the only one seriously concerned that this is a replacement for Forshaw?
I mean…it would make sense?
I would imagine that the club would rather not lose Forshaw but this put us in a better position if we do receive a bid that we feel we can’t turn down.
If we don’t then happy days, we’ve got another quality midfielder
True, just seems strange that he would want to come here as cover – although I’m a bit ignorant of his style; would he complement Saville and Forshaw? Replace them?
Do we remove the “bite” from Douglas? Or has he got that himself?
With McCormack playing left back, I guess that there is a clear space for an option like him.
I’d like Alan Swann’s perspective.
From what I’ve read, he sounds most like a Saunders, albeit one that can play on the left more comfortably.
Apparently useful against teams who try to play a deep holding midfielder due to his sheer work rate and ability to shoot well from distance
I think we’d all like Alan Swann’s perspective. I think he’s unfortunately too busy sucking up to Leyton Orient fans currently
