Brentford came from behind to settle for a point against a well organised Bristol City side who will remain in the Championship alongside the Bees next season.

Brentford started brightly and created several good chances in a bright first half, with Lasse Vibe going close to adding to his impressive recent haul, but good saves and deflections kept the home side at bay.

Lee Tomlin, who has received a fair amount of stick from the home fans about his weight, had the last laugh in the first 45 when he produced a great shot from outside the box that beat the dive of Button and City went in ahead at the break.

City then carved out some good opportunities in the seconds half, with Barbet forced into some excellent tackles, one following a Button fluff after coming out of his box then missing the ball.

It looked set to be a frustrating afternoon for Brentford after three straight wins – Scott Hogan, who had come on as sub, was felled in the box after being played in by KK, only to see his resulting penalty saved well.

Brentford certainly didn’t deserve to lose the match however, and they grabbed a share of the spoils when Hogan rose to head home from a cross to the far post that had been knocked on from Harlee Dean.

As you will hear in the Beesotted Pride of West London post match podcast, and from Beesotted’s terrace video, fans thought a draw was a fair result over all, although had Brentford taken some of their early chances we could have seen a fourth win in the spin.

No matter, it was another spirited 90 mins and great to Scott Hogan netting at last after his injury nightmares… Here’s to a few more between now and the end of the season.
