This episode takes a closer look at one of the more intriguing summer signings for Brentford: Jordan Henderson. The former Liverpool captain and England international has signed a two-year deal with the Bees after terminating his contract with Dutch giants Ajax. Henderson spent 18 months in Amsterdam, and under his leadership, Ajax came within five games of clinching the Eredivisie title, only to fall away late in the 2024–25 season. In total, he made 57 appearances, scoring once and providing nine assists, anchoring midfield as a number 6 and wearing the armband during a turbulent but ambitious rebuild at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Joining us to discuss Henderson’s time in the Netherlands is Tom, Dutch Premier League commentator for Viaplay. He gives us the inside track on how Hendo was viewed in the Dutch press, why his leadership was both praised and criticised, and what Brentford fans can realistically expect from him in the red and white.
