This week we have placed three of Brentford’s recent signings under the spotlight, and learned what we can expect from those who know them best – the fans who have watched them develop and flourish at their previous clubs. This morning we focus on Frank ‘The Tank’ Onyeka, who the Bees prised from Danish club FC Midtjylland for around €10m.
Podcast regulars will be aware of that fact that his impending transfer was revealed at the Beesotted Podcast in the pub with Brentford’s Directors of Football Phil Giles and Rasmus Ankersen – much to Rasmus’ surprise that Beesotted had got an early sniff… but what a signing this one looks to be from listening to FCM fan Simon Hansen who gives a fascinating rundown as to what Brentford fans can expect of Onyeka, as well as how he compares and contrasts with the likes of Josh Dasilva, Matihas Jensen and Christian Norgaard… and how he thinks he’ll shape up in the Premier League.
Onyeka looks to have it all… Fast. Strong. Good with the ball. A proper Duracell bunny that can last the full ninety minutes and then some more. Rated as one of the best, if not the best player playing in the Danish Superliga last season, Frank may be expensive, but he comes well equipped for life at the top with Brentford.
Thanks for a great insight Simon… Onyeka sounds a cracker… but he’s no Denny Mundee.
