Brentford today announced the season-long loan signing of Czech winger Martin Fillo from FC Viktoria Plzen

The 27 year old wideman had been training with The Bees on their recent trip to Germany, where Uwe Rosler took the opportunity to take a prolonged look at his former charge – Fillo played for Rosler at Norwegian side Viking Stavanger

Fillo is a former captain of the Czech Under 21 side and looks set to bring some attacking flair to the squad in the place of Harry Forrester who recently signed for Doncaster.

Rosler today commented “Martin will be a good addition, he can score goals and I can see him doing very well in games where teams sit deep against us when we need players who are good in tight areas.”

A goalscoring midfielder could be a vital addition to the squad – not least to try and replace the 11 goals scored by Forrester last season.

Beesotted hopes that Fillo doesn’t turn out to be a flaky, powder-puff winger. His signing at one point looked like pie in the sky but Rosler has scone and got his man.
