The three goal winning margin may have flattered Brighton ever so slightly, but few could, or would even attempt to, argue the the visitors never looked even remotely likely to take anything from this match.
Brenrford knocked the ball around well, but there was simply no sharp edge up top, and a handful of half chances isn’t enough to cut the mustard against The Seagulls who boosted their playoff chances in live TV.
There was no lack of effort by Brentford, but they simply didn’t ask enough questions with either Vibe or Djuracin on the pitch, and once again, Alan Judge looked The Bees’ most likely man to net.
Two nil down and the break there was no sign of a Cardiff-like comeback, and the Bees fans were heading for the exits long before Brighton’s last minute third goal.

As you will hear in the Beesotted Pride of West London Post-match Podcast (click link above), supporters feel that Dean Smith and his players seriously need to up the standard in coming weeks otherwise a miserable slide is a realistic vision… Mid table in the Championship may not be the end of the world, and we won’t be going down, but we are better than this, and standards need to be raised back to a level we have grown to expect at Sheffield Wednesday next weekend.
