To celebrate Brentford Football Club’s 125th anniversary, a very special book has been commissioned by the club to commemorate this landmark event.

The makers of the Big Brentford Book series have unearthed another treasure trove of glorious, previously unseen and long forgotten photographs, wonderful cuttings, fascinating information and rare memorabilia – some of which dates back to the club’s earliest existence… but they are looking for the help of Brentford fan and local collectors to make the book even more special.

The authors are especially trying to track down any of local photographer, Frank Wakefield’s Brentford archive, as well as anyone who has any photos of the team processions in the High Street following Cup wins in 1892 and 1894, or the opening of Griffin Park in 1905. Photographers would have been present at these events; however, no photographs are currently known to exist.

If you are able to help the football club unearth any interesting Brentford early-years artefacts or memorabilia from these, or any other decade, then please get in touch with [email protected] .

Further information on the publication date and the book’s availability through the Official Brentford FC website (including a name in book scheme) will appear in the coming weeks. Click here for  more images.
