Finally, it’s done and dusted. After weeks of frustrating back‑and‑forth, low bids and awkward silence, Bryan Mbeumo’s move to Manchester United is finally over the line. As Bees fans, we’ve watched on with a perplexed expression while the transfer saga stretched on… but today, it’s official. We’ve sold our prize forward and a new chapter begins.

Brentford and United have agreed a deal worth £65 million guaranteed, with up to £6 million more in performance‑linked add‑ons, pushing the total package to a possible £71 million. Crucially, Manchester United will pay the £65 million “base fee” in four instalments, spread over the next 12 months. This structure suits both clubs: United maintain PSR cash‑flow, while Brentford receive a secure, phased payout. Financially, this deal gives our club a platform to reinvest smartly and significantly. This makes a change from the usual ‘undisclosed’ details that surround so many important transfers.

But from a fans’ perspective, losing the player’s 20 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League is bittersweet… But at least we’ve been rewarded with a fee that matches that output exactly.

His consistency, work‑rate, and flair embodied everything we cherish as Brentford supporters and we’re gonna miss his out-and-out class in those games where he made all the difference. But we also must respect that Mbeumo has earned the move and he walks off into the sunset with our utmost admiration.

As the dust settles, we will look back on an amazing journey. Bryan came to Brentford as a bright, young, prospect and leaves as one of the club’s all‑time attacking icons. We should be proud of how far he’s come in the red and white of Brentford Football Club, under our coaching, our ethos, and in front of our supporters.

Thanks for everything Bryan, we couldn’t have asked any more from you and you leave our part of West London as a true Brentford legend.
