Forgotten man Martin Fillo today grabbed a hat trick for the Brenford Development Squad against Charlton in a 6-3 defeat in the pouring rain.
Fillo, on a season’s loan from Viktoria Plzen, was brought to Brenford last summer by former boss Uwe Rosler but after a few outings at the start of the season he drifted out of the first team squad.
His last first team appearance came back in October although he did make the Bees’ bench at Carlisle at the weekend in the absence of Stuart Dallas who had returned to Ireland for a funeral.
Brentford are unable to return Fillo to his parent club as the transfer window is now closed, but they can loan him onwards to another English club in a peculiarity of the international loan regulations.
Fillo will no doubt be hoping that his trio of goals this afternoon will either catch the attention of Mark Warburton or a scout from another English side as he seeks a return to regular first team action

I would certainly not question Warbs decisions but maybe there is some merit in giving Filo a shot. We seem to shuffle Trotts and Grigg or make a midfield switch when we make a sub. Why not use Filo as an impact on the right and move Clayton central. Warbs already commented that teams know how we are set up so rather than straight swap subs why not make a formation change and give the oppo right back and/or the centre half something to think about. In Warbs I trust but we rarely have a true winger playing since Kids left and while Sam recovers maybe Filo can come good as the season closes out.
