The Football Supporters’ Federation and Kick it Out are holding a panel discussion for female football fans to share their experiences of following the men’s game from the Premier League to non-league.
If there are issues, what are they? Are there ways more women could be encouraged into stadiums? Should this be an issue for fans? If so, what could supporters’ groups do?
Do FSF campaigns “speak” to female fans? The Premier League say all-seater stadiums attract more diverse crowds, but FSF polling shows 85% of female fans back the choice to sit or stand. Does gender have any influence on how fans see diversity, pricing, or policing?
The panel:
Hayley Bennett – Arsenal supporter
Katrina Law – Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust
Fiona McGee – Leeds United fan and FSF National Council member
Theresa Parker – Bristol City supporter
Roisin Wood – Kick It Out (chair)
The evening will give female fans the opportunity to talk about why they love football and what it’s like to attend matches in a predominantly male environment.
This event is open to all fans – both the FSF and KIO would be more than happy to see male fans in attendance too.
If you would like to attend please email [email protected].
The FSF have launched a female fans survey. You can fill there survey out right here …
