   Dear Jim

   You have to hand it to Super Kev – being the team spokesman when you are 15 years old (during the Eddie May era in 1997) is some achievement.

   Pedantry apart, a nicely written article as ever, though rather wisely you avoid mentioning PG’s renditions of Hey Jude (the most random one being before the first round of the FA Cup versus Morecamb under Coppell when there were 4,000 punters in the house).

   So help me here. If it wasn’t Eddie May in charge who was it when we lost away in an evening game at Cheltenham. Memory must be going. I’ll get the Beesioted lads to change it when I’ve gig my facts right

   Okay. Facts checked. The game was a 5-0 defeat at Cheltenham when Leroy Rosenior was in charge and there was all sorts of nonsense going on behind the scenes. I urged Kevin to let me know more about the mood in the camp and he refused to reveal anything. Apologies but the sentiment still the same

     Or was it 2-0 away when Scott F was in charge? To be honest in all the exitiement I kind of lost count myselff but you get the drift. ”Twas definitely away at Cheltenham when the wheels were falling off

   Dear Jim

   I think 1997-1998 is best forgotten, so don’t over exert yourself finding out. One way or the other, it was ‘that season’ when KO’C and Frampton were the two senior players, so we are talking Leroy or Fitz (or even the mighty Quin). Possibly the most depressing era I’ve had as a Brentford fan.

   Excellent article I must say, was the Cheltenham away game where one particular Brentford fan decided to sing ‘non league scum off our pitch’???? Apart from the obvious lack of respect for Cheltenham…….we were the ones playing like and heading for non-league! Seems a million years ago now!
