Despite Dave Whelan announcing Wigan’s capture of Adam Forshaw on BBC radio, the deal is actually still a way off from being complete.
According to our (very reliable) sources, a figure has been agreed. A record breaking Brentford transfer fee of £3.6m rising to £5m with add-ons. But there are a number of terms still to be resolved which are currently holding up the deal. And Everton will take a healthy slice of the up-front fee.
With the transfer deadline approaching rapidly, both sides will be eager to wrap things up and move on with their lives.
As Mark Warburton focuses his team on the forthcoming trip to Rotherham, he doesn’t need any more distractions.
