It was a perfectly timed gig by According To You on Sunday evening – the young band playing a cracking set at The Globe to mark the launch of the Philippine Relief Fund song – straight after the Bees had gone top of the league by beating MK Dons at Griffin Park. Two things to raise a glass to I reckon! The live version of the song can be heard in the video clip above.
There was a fantastic post-Christmas, pre-New Year’s Eve, atmosphere in the boozer, which was not only supported by a packed out pub full of Bees fans, but also the entire Brentford Football club coaching management team and club owner Mathew Benham.
What a magnificent football club we support, seriously, where else would you find fans and management mixing over a few beers straight after the match? A moment that certainly won’t be forgotten in a hurry – Brentford FC supporting us for supporting them. Thanks also to Peter Gilham for nobly plugging the event/song over the match-day Tannoy, and to the club staff for the programme adverts and plugs on the official website. That’s the spirit.
As well as the iTunes download of the song, which you can get right now by clinching the button below, there are now physical CDs, which were were donated free of charge by MediaDisk and sold for the first time in The Globe on Sunday, and raised a touch over £400 on the night, every penny going to help those recovering from the typhoon.
The CDs will next be on sale at Peterborough away on New Years’ Day for a minimum donation of £3.

I’ve supported this club for 50 years and never have I been so proud of them as I am now, both on and off the field.
Thanks to Matthew Benham for his patience, his investment and for doing everything the right way.
How lucky we are to finally have a lifelong fan who has enough money and interest to rescue the club from decades of neglect.
Championship next season, and not for just one year either.
