Mark Warburton may again find his team selection for tonight’s clash with Gillingham dictated by injuries to key players.

Recent injury victims Harlee Dean (groin), Adam Forshaw (calf) and Sam Saunders (“knock”)  all had fitness tests yesterday but Warburton will not want to gamble his star assets if not fully fit tonight.

The absence of Saunders and Forshaw last weekend against Walsall meant that Alan Judge was pulled back into a midfield position, but the sparky Blackburn loanee didn’t have the same impact on the game as he had shown on the left prong of our attack against Port Vale.

If Judge is still required in midfield tonight, it could give the chance for Chuba Akpom to barge past Will Grigg into our starting XI after a decent cameo performance as a subsitute against the Saddlers.

Dean’s absence has been ably mopped up by the versatile Kevin O’Connor, but Warburton will be keen to restore Harlee to his team and renew his impressive partnership with Tony Craig at the centre of defence.

With Jonathan Douglas back to match fitness, Alan McCormack is again likely to be used at right back with Shaleum Logan kept on the bench.

Gillingham are unlikley to make changes to the team that beat Swindon 2-0 last time out. Striker Danny Kedwell, who had trials with Brentford back in 2006,  is still recovering from a groin injury but former Bees Leon Legge, Myles Weston and Stuart Nelson should feature
