Brentford fans will be delighted to read the news that manager, Uwe Rosler, has signed an extension to his contract at Brentford. Rosler’s name had begun to be linked with vacant jobs in the Championships as other club chairmen sit up and take note of what he’s achieving at Griffin Park, so to have come to an agreement until May 2015 will hopefully continue to provide much need stability moving forward.
Uwe has become a very popular figure at Brentford Football Club since he arrived at the start of the 2011/12 season, and the former Manchester City striker has introduced a measured, stylish and exciting brand of football. With the team enjoying a long unbeaten run and the prospect of a mouth-watering FA Cup Fourth Round clash with Chelsea on the horizon – the potential loss of Rosler, who was out of contract at the end of the season, could have become a real distraction as the team try and focus on promotion.
Rosler’s extension, which follows Mark Warburton’s decision to turn down a top job at Premier League West Brom, and Harry Forrester’s pledge to stay until the end of the season at least, is a real shot in the arm. All too often Bees fans have witnessed prized assets leaving to ‘better’ their chances of success elsewhere, recent develops suggest that under Mathew Benham’s leadership, Brentford is now the best place to be.
