Brentford roared back in to the automatic promotion race tonight by bringing home a vital three points from JPT winners Crewe.

The Bees flew out of the traps and scored an early goal when Bradley Wright Phillips (he’s better than Shaun) headed home a fine Shay Logan cross

Uwe Rosler’s side proceeded to dominate the first half and fashioned several chances with Harlee Dean rattling the bar with a header. (video link)

Tom Adeyemi put in another powerful performance in midfield but became somewhat unpopular with the locals following an incident including the home goalkeeper who was later substituted due to injury.

After the break Crewe fought back briefly but Brentford showed grit across the pitch, eventually doubling their lead through a crisp volley from substitute Marcello Trotta.

In truth it was no less than The Bees deserved after an excellent and committed performance in front of a noisy 442 travelling fans in the Ice Cream Vans stand.

The win moves Brentford to third in League One on 74 points with four games to play. Win them all and we are champions. Simples.
