Brentford football club will look back at November 2014 as the month that never stopped giving! Not only did it produce a faultless 100% sequence of results, with some of the best football on show in living memory and the national press singing out praises – Mark Warburton and Andre Gray have now been awarded the SkyBet Championship Manager and Player of the Month respectively.

This is a massive deal for Brentford, whose achievements on the field of play have impressed everyone lucky enough to have seen them play this campaign. I’m sure Mark Warburton is as pleased as punch at having been recognized for his role in guiding his team on a charge up the league table, and I’m sure he’ll celebrate in the modest and understated style that has endeared him to some many people… But for Andre Gray, I hope it gives him a huge confidence boost and an even greater sense of confidence in his abilities at this level.

We all know that these awards are often jinxed, with a turn-around in form accompanying the trophy, but Warbs and his team will not be letting this go to his team’s head – that’s for sure.

Well done to both men, and to the players and coaching staff that have ensured that last month will be one that is never forgotten.
