Saturday’s win over Oldham, if nothing else, proved that the players’ appetite to fight to the death to achieve victory didn’t leave Griffin Park and head to Lancashire along with Uwe.

In fact there were no tell-tell signs whatsoever that could indicate a hang-over from Rosler’s departure. Admittedly it is still early days for Warburton as gaffer, but all of those we have spoken to behind the scenes at the club see the transition as nothing other than positive. Yes some very likeable personalities have also left as a byproduct of the managerial change … But certainly no alarm bells have been sounded.

Oldham looked good enough on the day to have got something from the match, and you could argue to have gained a three-point haul was slightly fortuitous … There were a few edgy moments that, on another day, could have gone against us. Jonny Douglas being still on the pitch to be able to head home in injury time being a prime example … Another day, another referee, another coloured card perhaps?

Preston North End are a team on a similarly impressive run of results as the Bees’, neither side are in the habit of losing, so a draw seems the predictable outcome… But if we put in a Wolves-like performance, a game in which we showed little respect to reputation or the potentially intimidating atmosphere… Then we could come home with all three points. It won’t be easy though and some are predicting our run will end. I’m not one of them.

What do you think Warbuton’s game plan should be for Deepdale?
