All a bit of a joke! I somewhat agree with your comment. Phil and Ramus brought in lower division footballers who aren’t up to scratch (Gogia, Kerchbaumer), however Marinus didn’t have to play them…or did he?? I was at the Wednesday game at the weekend and like all fans have an opinion about the formation / team selection. Clarke for me might have a future at the Bees, however he needs to go out on loan to gain experience and confidence. Some of the senior players were helping him out (big Macca for one) and perhaps that detracted from their own game. Appreciate that was enforced by the injuries, but obviously it’s time to sell Yennaris if he can’t get in. Secondly, we have Wood who looks assured and is up to speed yet he only came on as a late sub. I’d like to see him instead of Kerchbaumber who’s supposed to be a box to box midfielder yet was constantly in front of Vibe who for me did Kerchbaumbers job when actually you want him further upfield.
That said, I don’t think we were too far away. Perhaps Mr Benham wanted a scapegoat already…?
Becoming a joke club now like Leeds and our little Hooped neighbours. What was Benham thinking? Messi would struggle in our current team with no service. Awful PR for the club yet again.
What true gents Marinus and Roy were. They deserved more time. They have been treated shoddily by our club, and I haven’t heard an adequate explanation from our chairman, just an attempt to spin away the board’s trigger-happiness with a couple of phrases about long term objectives. The trouble with computer-obsessed people is they have no patience for the real world. The click of a mouse is so instant, isn’t it?
