The sun was shining in Griffin Park. The Bees were looking to turn around two poor results taking on an Ipswich side full of confidence who had won their first league match 4-2.
With Nico Yennaris & Maxime Colin back in the side, there was more spring in the Bees’ step as – after an iffy 1st 30 minutes – they controlled the game with defender John Egan scoring a brace in the 2nd half to seal the 3 points.
We chat to Ipswich and Brentford fans after the match … In the pub
Bentley looks solid… reminds me of Paul Smith (for my money the Bees all time best keeper…never had a bad game absolutely solid). Harlee won all his headers.Mcleod and Colim had good games. A very talented Bees team all round…when confidence is full they will be a very difficult team to take points from.Made Ipswich look slightly less than average. Hogan and Vibe together will be soft cop/hard cop…defences won’t be able to handle them with Josh Clarke out on the wing. If the team plays with maximum confidence I predict a top three finish. The “C” word is vital.
All the best, Tim (supporting the Bees since the late 1970’s)
