Despite an electric start to the season, which included an impressive win at Griffin Park, I think most Brentford fans had pigeonholed Leyton Orient as ‘this season’s Tranmere Rovers’. However, despite relinquishing an unbeaten record against Coventry City a couple of weeks back, it looks like they’ve regrouped, and ‘gone again’.
The O’s 3-1 win at Peterborough is surely the League One result of the weekend, and in David Mooney, they East Londoners possess a striker who will be a contender for the division’s player of the season come May. So, are Leyton Orient the real deal this campaign after all? Or, by relying on the same band of players week-in-week-out so far, will the wheels still come off after Christmas when fatigue and injuries come into play?
Beesotted caught up with one happy O on his way back from London Road and quizzed him on the mood among his fellow supporters.

Hi mate, Of course there is a long way to go, but i would think Orient will have quality cover, allowing for injuries etc. They have a squad of roughly 18 good div one players. The big worry of course,is if Lisbie or Mooney ( especialy Lisbie )gets a bad Injury, then we may have problems. Other than that we have a great team spirit, and believe it or not we are getting stronger week by week. Orient have no-one to fear in this division. I fully expect Wolves, Coventry, Peterborough, and yourselves Brentford to be fighting with Orient for automatic promotion at the end of the season.
Best Wishes
Frank.
