Brentford star James Tarkowski has made headline news in the dog world – producing the biggest litter of Husky dogs in the UK for twenty years.
His trusted companion Lucky, who travels to all games with him and famously escaped onto the pitch at Crewe prior to kick off in Brentford’s recent 3-1 win, gave birth to FIVE pups late on Sunday evening – amazingly all male.
Speaking exclusively to Beesotted yesterday, James told us “I’m absolutely amazed. I thought she was having triplets and suddenly five came out!”
“She’s not been able to go to games recently due to her condition. The first game she missed was our win at Leyton – which obviously wasn’t a lucky day for me personally but a good win for the lads. She’s also missed our matches at Rotherham and back in Oldham at the weekend but the vets have given her the OK to travel to Sheffield as the pups are being bottle fed”
Tarkowski has named the pups after his defensive colleagues at Brentford : “They are called Jake, Harlee, TC, Button and MacYennaris. I appreciate the last one is a bit of a mouthful but the gaffer keeps changing who plays at right back”.
“My phone has been going all day – I’ve also had interviews with the local news plus a couple of Dog magazines. It’s crazy. Harlee has already asked about adopting his pup, which could at least give Lucky some companionship on match days.”
Beesotted wishes James and his new litter all the best for the rest of the season – let’s hope we are top dogs in League One come May.
