Is Yeovil’s Gary Johnson counting his chickens by posing with playoff trophy?

A Somerset based Bee has sent Beesotted this photo, which clearly shows Johnson posing for photos with the League One play-off trophy alongside Glovers’ fans in a local Asda supermarket earlier this week. We consider this to be a very strange thing to do.

Promoting your club’s trip to Wembley is clearly perfectly fine, obviously, both sides need as many fans as possible to help cheer them on to the Championship – we’re just not sure posing with silverware in front of a Football League/nPower promotional backdrop is appropriate before the big day… It gives the visual impression that you’ve won something already.

Can you imagine Uwe Rosler doing the same in Brentford Morrison’s? No, thought not. Perhaps the Bees manager should show his players this photo the morning of the match and see what they think of Yeovil parading the trophy before a ball has even been kicked.
