It’s been a good few years since a half decent terrace anthem was born. Love him or hate him, the Martin Rowlands song was genius. And the Danny Boxhall song was brilliant. Even the Sonko song was quality. All original. We’ve had a few songs over the past few years but most of them have been variations of songs being sung by other football teams. Saying that, the Gary Alexander song was fairly original.
So after a tremendous day out in Hartlepool, just as we passed Luton the Harlee Dean song was born. To the tune of Queen’s “I want to be free”, a rather tired and emotional rabble were trying to keep the party bubbling. Then @lordloucan and @jimmymack84 just pipe up ….. To the tune of Queen’s ‘I want to be free’
I LOVE HARLEE DEAN
The next half an hour was spent with the group desperately trying to remember the words of a hastily pieced together potential future anthem.
I think it went something like this
I love Harlee Dean
I love Harlee Dean
I love Harlee Dean for the first time
This time you know what I mean
I love Harlee Dean
God knows
God knows I love Harlee Dean
I like Tony Craig
I like Tony Craig
I like Tony Craig but its not quite the same coz I love Harlee Dean
God knows. God knows I love Harlee Dean
Quality!!!!
Next mission … To get Tony Craig a proper captain’s terrace anthem ….
