Gogia a Goner?

Andy Gogia is being heavily linked with a move away from Brentford and looks set to join German Second Division side Dynamo Dresden .

The 24 year old was signed in May 2015 from Hallescher FC and made 14 appearances for the Bees last season but struggled to adapt to the rigours of Championship football and several niggling injuries severely limited his game time.

The terms of the Ealing are yet to be finalised but seeing as he has a contract until 2019, a season-long loan seems a sensible option.

Can Elder Flower with the Bees?

Callum Elder is due to formally complete his move to Brentford on loan from Premier League Champions Leicester City any day now.

The Australian left back – who was on loan at Peterborough last season – impressed during his 21 game stint at London Road and our friends Adrian Durham from TalkSport and Alan Swann from the Peterboro Telegraph will no doubt be seething as The Posh were very keen for him to return for another loan spell.

The Peterboro Telegraph said: “He’s a rock-solid performer. Few issues defensively and when he gets the opportunity he can deliver a superb cross. He’s a good player who is improving by the game”

However, after signing a long term deal with Leicester City, Elder has made the decision to make the step up to the Championship with The Bees, providing much needed cover at left back after Jake Bidwell departed for QPR.

Will Ledesma Make the Grade?

Dean Smith is running the rule over former QPR winger Emmanuel Ledesma and after the Argentinan featured in three of Brentford’s friendly’s

The ex Boro and Walsall midfielder scored for Brentford B during a behind close doors match with a Chelsea XI on Wednesday. With five minutes of the first half remaining after his initial free-kick was handled in the box. He opted to take the spot kick which was saved but his cat like reactions saw him nod past the Chelsea ‘keeper from the rebound

We will find out over the next few days if Dean Smith has decided that the midfielder – who played for him at Walsall – what we need at Griffin Park at the moment as search for attacking midfielders continues.

TC We Salute You!

Brentford will head to the New Den on Saturday to take part in Tony Craig’s richly deserved Testimonial. Tony is in his third stint at Millwall and narrowly missed out on another promotion after defeat in last seasons League one play-off final.

TC captained the Brentford team that got promoted from League one in 2013/14 and played 23 league games in the Championship the following season saying “It is an honour that Brentford have come to share my special day”.

He will also be donating the proceeds from the game to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court where seriously injured Military Service Personnel are treated.

Tickets are available on the day priced at £10 for Adults, £5 for Seniors and £5 for Juniors. So get yourself down to the New Den to show your support for Tony.

Pritchard to leave Spurs

Former Brentford Loanee Alex Pritchard is being touted around the Championship and Premier League as his future at Tottenham looks ever more uncertain.

Spurs however are after up to £8 million – on top of the wages his agent will be looking for – for the attacking midfielder which firmly puts him beyond Brentford’s reach. Newcastle, Leeds, Norwich and QPR are the clubs rumoured to be interested.

Mauricio Pochettinho has confirmed that Pritchard is unlikely to feature for Spurs when he spoke during Tottenham’s Pre-Seaosn tour of Australia. He said “the situation of Bentaleb, Pritchard and Fazio is very clear. They are not in my plans”

QPR Stadium plans scuppered by fan

QPR fan and CarGiant Managing Director Tony Mendes has released a statement denying that any deal has been agreed for Rangers to build a new ground on the Car Giant site.

Mendes has gone as far as saying “I can confirm that neither CarGiant, nor our development partners London and Regional Properties, are in any discussions with QPR and that we will not enter into any such discussions or agreements with the Club in any way, shape or form”

Cheers!!

Jackett Gets His Coat

Wolves have sacked manager Kenny Jackett after 3 seasons in charge.

The club was recently taken over by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International.
Chairman Jeff Shi said on Monday that he was “very happy to work with Jackett” and promised him significant funding.

He’s probably been wooed by Harry Redknapp since then. Hopefully.

Around the leagues

Sheffield Wednesday have completed the double signing of Almen Abdi and Daniel Pudil from Premier League Watford both for an undisclosed fee.

Adam Matthews, Sunderland’s Welsh full back, has gone back to Bristol City on loan for the season. Matthews played nine times for the Robins during a previous loan spell last season.

Not content with that though, Bristol City raided little known Bayern Munich for Ivan Lucic. The 21 year old shot stopper joins Ashton Gate from the German giants and it looks likely they will find him a loan club to gain first team experience.

And, Jake Buxton leaves Derby after seven years and 159 appearances to join Gary Caldwell’s Wigan Athletic. The 31 year old defender only made 4 appearances for the Rams last year.
