Callum Elder – Leicester City’s Australian left back – is set to sign for the Bees on loan after penning a new long term contract with the current Premier League Champions. 
The 21 year old left back came through the Foxes Academy before getting a taste of first team action when he went on loan to Mansfield in the 2014/15. After initially signing for a month, his performances led to Mansfied extending that loan deal for the season. Last season Elder gained further first team experience when he was sent on loan to Peterborough Utd in January. He went on to make 21 appearances for the Posh and scoring once. Elder has also represented the Australian National side at U20 level and is set to sign a new long term deal with the Foxes. The Peterborough Telegraph have stated that Posh have given up on their pursuit of Elder and Barry Fry – Director of Football at the League one club – is quoted as saying: “We tried hard for Callum and he indicated he wanted to come back to us.” “But he has now signed for a new contract at Leicester and it has been decided he will play in the Championship this season. I understand he will sign for Brentford.” Dean Smith has been quoted several times this season that he is after a replacement for Jake Bidwell as Tom Field is currently the only natural left back at the club. Assuming this is true, are Leicester softening us up for a bid for Hogan?
Surely none of use are naïve enough after last year with Gray not to think that history could repeat, and it is interesting that Dean Smith is already saying the same type of hogwash about Hogan as Tisdale is about Watkins!
Both Hogan and Dean Smith have dismissed any chance of him leaving the Bees especially as Hogan has yet to complet a full 90 minutes after his 2 year injury lay off. Hogan also made the comment, much to his credit, that he feels he owes brenford for sticking by him for so long and he wants to repay that faith. As an aside I see that Zach Clough has a price of around 1.5 million put on him by Bolton. I think he would be a good fit for Brentford in their search for a winger.
Great shout! I am not inspired by signings so far squad is way short of where it needs to be if we are serious about a play off challenge 2 wingers, centre forward & defensive midfielder fast!!

Excellent signing, the Peterborough fans loved him. And yeah, can we please give it a rest with the Hogan rubbish, its a total non-story.
