Brentford Football Club rounded off a superb week by picking up two trophies at the Football League awards on Sunday evening. Bees midfielder Adam Forshaw was voted League One’s player of the season, while the BFC Community Sports Trust’s outstanding work means that Brentford Football Club are also Community Club of the Year.
These remarkable achievements came hot on the tails of the team’s great top of the table win on Saturday and the new stadium green light being given by Eric Pickles … What a fantastic weekend for everyone connected to our club, both on and off the pitch. I think we should all take a moment to reflect and appreciate what a great time this is to be following our proud old club.
Adam Forshaw, who has underlined his potential since joining from Everton, has a great future in the game: here’s hoping he can achieve that with our club in the coming seasons.
Forshaw said after picking up the award last night: “As much as I’m made up with the award I’m also focused on Brentford’s upcoming games as we aim for promotion, starting with Coventry next weekend. I’m really pleased with how it’s going this season – it could go all the way but I am lucky enough to be in a good team and playing possibly some of the best football of my career.
“My dad never misses a game and my family and girlfriend all come so they’ll be made up for me because they give me so great support.”
Come on you Bees!
