Brentford turned on the style against an outclassed MK Dons team, in what proved to be one of the most one sided matches you’ll see at this level.
To say The Bees were superior in every area is an understatement, and although the visitors were spirited and were given a glimmer of hope purely because, somehow, the margin of defeat wasn’t far, far greater, the Bees wiped the floor with MK.
Swift and McCormack were missing with injuries, but the changes certainly didn’t appear to have a negative impact, with Dean Smith witnessing his side go after MK in wave after wave of attacks.
A solitary goal from the head of Lasse Vibe, after great work from Judge and Bidwell down the wing, was all that separated the two sides at the break… But three or four gilt-edged chances went begging and the frame of the goal was left shuddering on two occasions.
It was a similar story after the break, although MK defended deeper, but following a catalogue of close calls, and another bar-rattler from Vibe, the crucial second goal came with a large slice of luck… Alan Judge’s miss-hit shot trickling into the far corner with the keeper and defender caught expecting a shot towards the near post.
The Bees crowd went home purring after a win that was topped off by the sight of  King Jota back in action… His reception was rousing, which the player has thanked the supporters for on his Twitter feed by saying; “I have no words to thank the fans for their unbelievable welcome! You’re always in my heart”.
Another wonderful moment came just after the final whistle when Lasse Vibe shared a few moments having a kick around in the Ealing Road goal with his two young children… A very special memory for all of us lucky to share it with his family.
Crucially, Dean Smith’s reign started with a win, but arguably of equal importance was the style and spirit that was on display, I think that’s what pleased this Bee the most.
Brentford have clearly become an established, quality Championship side as was mentioned quite a few times in the PrideOfWest.London podcast below, and will continue to play in a manner we have grown to love… And a fair few pints of London Pride were raised back in the pub afterwards to toast the fact.
Bring on the Fulham.

great performance from the Bees, but we still need a center forward/striker to finish off all the hard work
