As I’ve said previously on a Jim Levack “comment” page you can sell your soul to the devil an be an unimportant not really wanted/needed statistic insofaras Brentford are concerned or you can be a proud part of being a Bees fan and be happy and thankful of what you’ve got. Where you are valued and appreciated.In England we need to get away from what went on before and be part of a different way as to what exists currently. That’s the $64,000 question.. how to survive/prosper without following todays format where it’s ALL about money. The worrying reality check is, as you quite rightly mention, unrealistic/unfair to expect Matthew Benham to keep bailing us out year after year to the tune of millions. The whole British football set up needs a major colonic irrigation…. foreign investors “cleaning up”/laundering dodgy foreign monies, parachute payments for failure (relagated clubs), tv/merchandise money dictating how the season is played/panned out, spineless and faceless FA officials (read “puppets”), endless football tv shows with “expert” pundits who sit on the fence(“don’t rock the boat we’re getting paid well”) and are as guilty for turning football into a boring 7-day a week reality soap opera… the list goes on! German model much better and fair. If you want a level playing field to occur in this great sport then fans/fanzines have to be listened to more/have majority power and football should only be played Saturdays (3 o’clock kick off) and Tuesday or Wednesday nights (one or the other and kick off at 7:45). That’s if you want a “fair race” to be played out…. otherwise it’s predictable football world here we come with non-footballing people running the show. Funny how Germanys fairer league reaps more rewards internationaly whereas Brazil’s and Argentina’s etc. money chasing players have stunted their country’s dominance in the international arena! With corruption in FIFA and dare I say UEFA it’s all smoke and mirrors….. will this mean the rise of the meek (amateur/non-league) football. Interesting factoid… there are more “bigger” clubs outside the Premiershite than in it!
