On behalf of all Brentford fans I would like to extend our respect to the family of Bees Legend George Francis (pictured above in the middle and left) and to mark our appreciation for what he achieved for our club after the sad news regarding his passing yesterday.
I was fortunate enough to interview George at his home a few years ago for the Cult Bees and Legends book series and found him a hugely likeable, modest and friendly fella, who clearly was very proud of his record with Brentford.
His record at Griffin Park was exceptional; especially his partnership with Jim Towers, and most tributes rightly highlight the stunning strike-rate the duo achieved… He was a very special player indeed.
Rest in peace George – your legacy and record at Brentford Football Club will live long into the future and will not be forgotten.
