It could be argued that a raft of clubs have been eyeing up our youngsters for months and months, ahead of a planned swoop in the closed season. So in that respect, Burnley are no different, although the Lancashire Telegraph are claiming that the Championship club are planning a raid on Harlee Dean, who they have priced at a bargain basement £250k, and Harry Forrester, who we would get a nominal fee for on a Bosman.
Needless to say, the players are fully focused on getting us into the the same league as Burnley at present, and hopefully all this transfer talk won’t affect them. With Brentford putting their full faith in the squad they have been developing, and by tying most of the players up with new contracts, let’s hope if any player does decide that our long-term ambitions aren’t quite for them, Brentford FC get more than the peanuts that some of these teams are proposing into our transfer kitty.
