Brentford have signed Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz on a free transfer according to our sources up North.
The 6ft 3inch German striker had a bit of a tough time at Hull after his £2.6 mill transfer from SC Paderborn where he scored 17 goals in 33 games.
Three goals in five starts (and 24 sub starts) for Hull and a penalty miss in their final promotion game from the Championship saw him loaned out to Barnsley, where he scored four goals in eight games prior to their relegation to Division One.
This move is seen as a fresh start for Proschwitz who would have had to taken a massive pay cut to join The Bees.
No doubt Mark Warburton, Matthew Benham and co are excited enough about their new prospect to have offered him a deal straight off, with no initial loan period.
He comes into the squad in time to feature in Brentford’s opening match against Charlton.
