Brentford have signed Chelsea midfielder George Saville on loan until 5th January.

A product of Chelsea’s academy, Saville joined Millwall on loan last season. He also played for the reserve team who won the league in 2011 and also ran out regularly for the U21s.

Unless he’s fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea reserves resulting in him being happy with academy game time, he will be no doubt looking at looking at working his way onto the bench of the first team at the first opportunity.

With Jake Reeves and Stuart Dallas knocking on the first team door, there’s a midfield queue building up from the academy.

George’s contract is up in 2015. There is always the possibility of a season-long loan then Brentford “doing a Bidwell”. That’s a long way off though. Let’s see how he fits in first.
