Brentford are today set to announce the signing of former Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Tebar, who played 25 times in La Liga for Almeira last season. The transfer was confirmed last night on twitter by Matthew Benham who is believed to have flown to Spain recently in order to cement the deal.
The 29 year old, who is 6 ft 1, looks like a sign of intent from Brentford’s management team as they attempt to strengthen the playing squad for the Championship.
The news comes through on the same day that Clayton Donaldson – the Bees’ top scorer for the last two seasons – agrees a two year deal at Birmingham City after passing a medical yesterday.
Donaldson’s departure leaves Brentford painfully thin up front with Will Grigg – linked himself with a move to Bristol City – the only recognised senior striker on our books, although Stuart Dallas and Alan Judge can admittedly play the wider roles in our regular three pronged attacking formation.

A big thanks to Clayton for all he has done for us. Not so sure how he will fare in the Championship against better defenders…his scoring ratio at the end of last season was not the best- about 25 shots to one goal.
