It’s no secret Brentford are hard on the chase of highly rated Arsenal youngster Chuma Akpom

The powerful Arsenal academy forward who can play anywhere across the front forward line is rated as one of Wenger’s hottest prospects. Skilful on the ball, powerful in the air and takes on players with ease.

He debuted for Arsenal U18s when only 15 yrs old and has scored roughly a goal a game for England U19s

Wenger has praised his ‘personality and quality’ – an increasingly important factor for Brentford now ensuring prospective players also have the right attitude off the pitch so as not to have a repeat of the Saido Berahinio situation.

Well known to Mark Warburton for his participation in the Next Gen series, if we get Akprom he won’t be the first highly rated Arsenal player for Brentford to develop.

Wojciech Szezesny had a fantastic season down at Griffin Park before moving back to Arsenal to go straight into the first team squad.

Needless to say we’re not the only team after him with Posh, Franchise FC (aka MK Dons) and Orient also chasing his signature.

Chatting to the management team when they came down to the “Come on You Brentford” single launch at The Globe pub, Akpom was mentioned as were a few of the other targets we have been linked with in the news.

Alan Judge is being chased from all angles with Sheffield Utd also in the running. We’re working on reeling that one in.

Jordon Ibe from Liverpool unfortunately did his hamstring recently and is expected to be out for 8 weeks so looks unlikely to be making his way down to London soon.

Dicko we were also keeping an eye on but with Rosler putting both him and Kiernan in the team against Burnley on Sunday, it looks like Rosler is keeping his lower division loanees for himself.

Needless to say, more transfer window news will unfold as time goes on. Let’s hope it’s all one way traffic – incoming not outgoing.
